I know it is early for summer reading lists, and I hope to actually write this summer, but I need some ideas. I have read every book in my home library, and even as a full time English student, I still try to read at least one book for pleasure each week (sometimes I can get two or three a week). I am running out of titles. So I am giving tit for tat. I'll show you mine if you show me yours.
My recommendations:
- Anything by Christopher Moore Island of the Sequined Love Nun, Bite Me, You Suck, Dirty Job, The Lust Lizard of Melancholy Cove, and all the others (I have read them all)
- Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro
- Anything by Gregory McGuire Wicked, Son of a Witch, Confessions of an Ugly Step-Sister, etc. (Again, I have read all of them)
- Wishful Drinking by Carrie Fisher
- Confessions of a counterfeit Farm Girl by Susan McCorkindale
There are sooooooo many I want to list, but not enough room.
I showed you mine, your turn!
p.s. I caught the mouse. It is now living happily outside (until someone makes it dinner).

Okay you said anything, right? I read a lot of YA books because my oldest son, Brody & I share books. Here were some of my favorite series:
-Percy Jackson and the Olympians Series by Rick Riordan
1) The Lightning Thief
2) The Sea of Monsters
3) The Titan's Curse
4) The Battle of the Labyrinth
5) The Last Olympian
6) The Demigod Files
After you finish that series, he just began a new series. The first book is: "The Lost Hero". The next one will be out in the Fall.
-Cirque De Freak Series by Darren Shan
1) Cirque du Freak: A Living Nightmare
2) The Vampire's Assistant
3) Tunnels of Blood
4) Vampire Mountain
5) Trials of Death
6) The Vampire Prince
7) Hunters of the Dusk
8) Allies of the Night
9) Killers of the Dawn
10)The Lake of Souls
11)Lord of Shadows
I recommend you don't see the movies for either of these book series though. Both authors gave up creative control of the movie rights & they both sucked.
Now my adult favorites are:
-The Tale of the Body Thief by Anne Rice
-Servant of the Bones by Anne Rice
-Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert
Ummm I think that's all I can remember for now. Happy reading. Looks like I'm going to the library for your suggestions. :D
